****REVIEW FOR TAINTED PICTURES****
Sarah book two was awesome.  Page turner for sure. Picking up where Tainted Bodies left off.  Kate trying to help the police solve the case.  Minute by minute page by page suspense, thrilling trying to solve while reading.  You could feel the feelings the characters where having.  Cliff hanger at the end can't wait for book three.  You really need to read book one Tainted Bodies cause this is NOT A STAND ALONE BOOK.  Especially where more clues and more things are being solved in the crime. If you haven't read book one you will have no clue and have missed a lot of what happened to Kate and Derrick.

******REVIEW FOR TAINTED BODIES******
First I will say this I don't usually read synopsis so everything that happens in books surprise me.  Another thing this for me was one book you don't want to start before bed.  Reason being I COULDN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN!!   Sarah did an excellent job writing this story.  The story line and characters were perfect and flowed really nice.  First to see Kate Jackson meet Derrick Kane at a coffee shoppe I found was really cute and like how their relationship blossomed.   Kate has a secret hidden from her past and never wants to share it.  She and her sister were left to care for themselves when younger cause their father died and their mom left them.  Uncle Lenny dad's friend cared for the girls.  I have to say I had a bunch of laughs throughout this story.  I love when Kate and Derrick were discussing their careers.  You see Derrick is a lawyer and Kate sells furniture.  Well this line I couldn't stop laughing. While Kate is describing her job  "Well, it's nothing as impressive as a lawyer but I sell the furniture you sit on most likely."  lol  I loved it.  While they build their relationship things change. Now for you to know what happened you have to read the book.   EXCELLENT STORY SARAH.  ON TO BOOK 2  TAINTED PICTURES

Kate just nodded slowly and picked up her phone.  She sent Derrick a text message, not saying anything specific except that she needed him there now.  She just didn’t know what else to tell him over text message and she wasn’t sure she could put a string of words together to talk over the phone.  The joy she had felt all day had come to a crashing halt and everything had taken two steps backwards.
Plus the truth was that she did need him.  She needed him right this moment, his arms wrapped around her to hold her up, his breath against her neck reminding her that she was alive, his eyes piercing through her in a way that always made her brain completely shut down.  She needed to shut down in that way that only he was capable of bringing out in her.  She wanted him to be there right now and her anxiety began to raise as she realized how badly every second without him felt to her.
Detective Snow was on her phone calling her partner and forensic techs to come sweep the apartment.  Kate went to her bedroom to put on a sweatshirt and some socks, since she was only wearing a tank top and pajama bottoms at that point.  She then went back to the kitchen where Detective Snow was writing in a notepad.  She sat down next to her and began sipping the tea that had been made for her, but she wasn’t even tasting it.
Finally there was a knock at the door and Kate jumped up out of her chair.  She wasn’t sure how much time had gone by since she had sat down at the table, she felt quite out of it.  All she knew is that Derrick was at the door and she couldn’t handle another moment not having his broad, thick arms clenched around her shoulders and pressing her tightly against his chest.  She rushed to the door, flying right past Detective Snow, and swung open the front door.
“Good evening, Kate.”  It was Detective McCraig with several crime scene technicians behind him wearing matching windbreakers and carrying cases and boxes of supplies.  Kate felt her entire face fall and practically hit the floor, she couldn’t possibly have looked more disappointed to see him.  McCraig wrinkled his eyebrows at her furtively, wondering why she looked so startled to see him.
She didn’t say hello back but instead just stepped to the side and motioned everyone into her apartment.  She grabbed her jacket hanging near the door and pulled it on and stepped into some tennis shoes, getting ready to leave.  She didn’t want to be here while they were making her apartment look like a crime scene again.  She just stood there, dejectedly, and waited for the last person to walk in the door so that she could leave.
“Kate?”  Someone called her and she looked up to see the last crime scene technician walk past her, but behind him was a friendly face.  Derrick stood in the doorway, almost blocking the entire entrance with his large, muscular frame.
“You beckoned, beautiful?”  He grinned at her, knowing that she needed a hint of normalcy right now.  Kate burst into a smile and rushed to him, throwing her arms around his neck and burying her face into his smooth, soft skin.  He caught her with his arms around her waist and on her back, her feet dangling off the ground as he supported her.
“Take me away from here.” Kate whispered to him.
“You’re with me now and everything else doesn’t matter.  Just you and me.  This is all that matters.  Let’s forget about everything else for tonight?” Derrick touched her chin, gently pulling her to face him.  She nodded in agreement, eager to have him take over and just care for her.  She was too worn out to keep pretending everything was fine.  Everything was not fine. There was a psychotic killer hunting her.  That’s really the very definition of not fine.
Seeing Derrick here pushed all of those thoughts away.  The way he expanded to take over the room and envelope her in his arms was mesmerizing.  She glanced up at him, her arms still wrapped around his waist and he head leaning against his shoulder.  His lips were only inches from hers.  Her eyes were searching his, looking for any signs of doubt, any signs that he might betray her again.  She wanted to push that fear away, she couldn’t keep holding onto this much fear.  She loved Derrick and she knew he wasn’t the same man he had been before.
“And I’m never going to leave you again.” He whispered, reading the fear in her gaze and stifling it immediately.  He wished he had never made the mistake to abandon her in her time of need and he knew he would happily spend every day for the rest of his life reassuring her that he would never be that man again.
The corners of her mouth lifted into a smile and she looked down at his lips and then back up at his deep, gentle eyes.  He wasn’t going to deny her another moment and so he leaned down and kissed her gently.  He squeezed her tighter against him as he did and then he smiled at her in the midst of their kiss and lowered her back down so her feet were on the ground.  With one quick motion, he reached down and one of his arms swept up behind her knees lifting her straight up into his arms.  She squeaked in surprise but didn’t try to fight him.
“Let’s go home.”  Derrick said to her, as he carried her down the hallway and she curled up in his large arms.

***RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW*** EMMA'S HOME The Fairfield Series Book 1 by Maryann Jordan

EH timeline

SynopsisHeader

Emma's Home cover

Beautiful Emma Dodd has always taken care of everyone. She raised her niece when they were orphaned and she cares for the students that she works with. Deciding to move to Fairfield where her niece now lives, she was hoping to finally find a place to call home.

Jake Campbell, was gorgeous enough to catch any woman’s eye, but he had a hard time finding the right one for him. A Fairfield detective, he lives with his mother to help care for her since she was diagnosed with a debilitating disease. After meeting Emma, he knows he has met the woman of his dreams. Now he just has to convince the independent Emma that it is time someone took care of her.

While helping one of her students, Emma becomes suspicious of criminal activity in her new town. Will Jake be able to save Emma in time for them to build a life together?

"Emma’s eyes shot up to Jake’s face. The face that kisses her so sweetly and whispers to her in the night. The face that calls her name when he comes inside of her. Now that face is so angry and his rage is focused on her. She could feel her chin begin to wobble, knowing tears were soon to follow.

Jake was aware of the change in her, felt her breathing hitch, and some of his ire release. Knowing that she needed reassurance he took her face gently in his powerful hands. “Emma girl, I’m not mad at you. I’m mad that someone is fucking with the woman I love. Someone has threatened you, scared you, and I didn’t know that was happening. And a man like me, does not like to find out that his woman is being fucked over. So baby, we need to know what’s goin’ on.”

Emma looked around at the room full of people, people that she knew cared about her. She had wanted to figure things out on her own and as much as she considered herself to be a strong woman, she was afraid. And now…. with someone trying to get inside her house, she was even more afraid. Looking down, she realized she was wringing her hands, trying to stop the shaking.

“Emma,” Jake said again softly, knowing that she was still in shock. “Tell us about the notes.”

Emma looked up into the baby blues that contained so much emotion; anger, fear, love. She knew she needed to trust that he would forgive her secretiveness and allow him to take care of her.

**I really enjoyed how she used so many emotions through out the book. I giggled and cried. I fell in love with all the characters. This story is about family, love, and finding your home.

**This first novel by Maryann Jordan is so refreshing. It combines a passionate love story with a little mystery mixed in! Both of these combined makes for a story you cannot put down!

**Absolutely LOVED this book! I had the honor to beta read Emma's Home, and I was blown away! This is a very down to earth and realistic story that will touch your heart. Not only is it steamy sexy but the challenges that Emma faces would be completely overwhelming to others. If you are looking for a book that has a very strong female lead, this is the book!!

**I also love all the surrounding characters in Jake and Emma's lives. They are so supportive and funny. They bring so much life into the book as well. I have to say that I was surprised by the plot twist. I was not expecting anything like that to come into play in this book. However, I LOVED it. It broke this book away from all the other typical romances that are out there.

**Maryann has done an amazing job with Emma's home. Not only did she give us our love story but she gave us drama suspense and a little mystery. I loved the story from the first chapter. This story makes u smile laugh and hurt with the characters you are pulled into the story and crave to see what happens next. It's truly a must read.

**I truly LOVED this book. The story of Emma and Jake was super sexy and heart warming. Loved Jake's protectiveness. Loved Emma's independence. And the other characters were awesome as well and can't wait to catch up on them. Ladies, if you wear panties, leave 'em off, Jake will just melt them right off!!

                                                ****REVIEW****
( I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.)  I really enjoyed reading Emma and Laurie story.   When Emma's Mom and Sarah (Emma's sister and Laurie's mom) were killed in an accident Emma being only 18 years old at the time had her life change in an instant now leaving her to raise her sister's daughter Laurie.   Then watching Laurie get together with her friends trying to set her Aunt up with Jake who was expecting an "old lady" was quite shocked when he found out Emma wasn't and "old lady" after all but around his age.  That is the beginning of Emma's story.  Maryann did a great job telling the story.  I was hooked from the beginning until the end. I found it a quick read but it could have been cause I was so into the story I couldn't put it down. I really look forward to reading more of Maryann's books.

Excerpt

I poke my hip out and cross my arms; trying to look casual. I'm hoping that he can’t tell that I'm lying. It won't hurt to make him think I was with someone last night. Leo frowns, taking a step forward. "You didn't leave with anyone last night, you went home with Maisy."

I notice Maisy's laughter has stopped. Great, her and Max are eavesdropping. The girl acts as though she doesn't like drama, but she sure does seem to like to get all up in my shit. I take a step away from Leo's intense gaze, coming to a stop when my back smacks into the limo. Oh shit, I don't want to be trapped by Leo, I can't. I take a deep breath, calming myself. "You don't know who I met once I left."

I see his jaw tense, maybe I shouldn't tease him, but why should he be bothered? All I ever was to him was a great fuck. Why should he care if I sleep with other men? "Did you?"

I avoid his glare. "It's not your business." I go to move to the side of him, but he slams his hand down on the car, stopping me from walking past. Oh shit. I turn around, but he has me trapped against the limo with his arms.

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!

I can't be trapped by him, in his sexy arms! It might seem silly, but his arms really do affect me like that. I can't look up at him, if I do I'll be a goner. His beautiful blue eyes affect me just as much as his muscled arms. That's the mistake I made last night.

"Don't fuck about Tan, tell me. Did you leave with someone last night?" I don't answer him. I know I can end this right now by telling him no, but I can't do that. That would mean I've lost, and I’m not prepared to do that. Leo presses his body against mine and I tense, his body feels so good, hard and warm. His body is so perfect, I can't have him pressing it against me, I'm already responding to him. He leans down, speaking directly into my ear; it sends shivers all over my body. "Did you fuck someone last night? Tell me now, because I need to fucking know."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do. I need to know if someone's tried to take what's not theirs. You're mine, angel."

I gasp, shoving at his chest. He doesn't move at all. "You're a fucking jerk, Leo!" I duck under his arms fast enough that he can’t stop me. I point my finger in his smug, beautiful face. "I am not yours; you lost that right four years ago."

Leo frowns and tries to reach out to me. "Angel-"

I move away so he can't touch me. "No! Don't call me that! You can't call me that anymore!"
