**BLITZ** SHARDS OF MY HEART by Nicole Andrews Moore

Blurb

When I took the vows for better or worse, I meant them. Then I started to wonder if there was a limit as to how much worse I was supposed to endure. Am I supposed to stay if worse means that me and my daughter are in danger? What if the worse was because of a mental illness? When is enough simply too much?

This is a different kind of love story. Read Nina’s journals for a tale of hope, strength of spirit, and unconditional love.

Nicole has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina for the past twelve years and now...she lives in secrecy in another state.
Her journey of elf-discovery and recovery has barely begun and she faces it with her head held high, her shoulders back, a smile on her face, and hope in her heart. Every day of her life seems to bring new adventures, some bigger, better, shinier and prettier than others.

For fun, she spends time with those she cares about, cooks, reads, writes, and especially lives to travel. The current travel goal: visit every Margaritaville. Three down! (Eleven to go?)

In May, Nicki started the blog Stories and Swag to promote authors. Several months later, she started Stories and Swag Tours, a blog tour company offering cover reveals, release blitzes, release parties on Facebook, and blog tours. In addition, she started Dominatrix Publishing, a boutique publishing company, to help other authors achieve publishing success.

Her writing can also be found on Shine, where she is a Shine Parenting Guru and an award winning Yahoo! Contributor on YourWisdom as the relationship and dating expert. In addition, she has been published by McClatchy News in their syndicated papers.

Her books can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Apple, and Smashwords in ebook, paperback, and even some audiobooks.

Dream Cast for Shards of My Heart

Excerpt

I blame fairy tales.

There was something about being raised to believe that once I found my prince, I would get to live happily ever after that set me up for disappointment. Life isn’t like that. Yet time after time, fairy tale after fairy tale, that’s where the story ends. We don’t get to see that Prince Charming snores, leaves the seat up, goes out hunting with the guys a little too often, or isn’t as loving and supportive as Cinderella imagined him to be. And the Prince, well, he might just tire of a bunch of rodents running around in clothes, coupled with a wife who talks to animals and bursts out in random songs.

The chase is the part that is glorified. That’s why marriages fail. How can they possibly live up to the hype of the chase? How can anything compare to the excitement of new love?

That’s why there are so many divorces. After all, divorce seems simple. It’s the ultimate do over. If that marriage didn’t result in happily ever after...no worries, just find someone new and start all over again.

At the same time, for those of us who are stubborn, who have a hard time giving up and giving in, how do we know when it is time to let go, to move on, and then admit we made a horrific mistake? What is an acceptable excuse for sticking a fork in a relationship?

SPECIAL GUEST AUTHOR MARIE LAVENDER

I would like to thank Marie Lavender for letting me interview her and share here on Little Red's Book Reviews.

I would love to have pictures of your books I know you write different genre's. The one I know about is Upon Your Return. I would also like to know about you.

Would like the blub to Upon Your Return? Also an author's picture.

Blurb:

Fara Bellamont has been back in society for a year after leaving Cluny Abbey, where her uncle sent her long ago. When he chooses a suitor for her for marriage, she fears that she will be forced to marry a stranger and live a miserable life. But, Fara finds herself thrust into an adventure of a lifetime when unforeseen circumstances cause her to place her trust in a strange man for protection. His intervention not only saves her, but puts her in an even more compromising position. Grant Hill, a trading captain, is enchanted by the young heiress not only because of her beauty, but because she is hardly conventional. Underneath her ladylike exterior lies a tigress. Grant cannot help but offer his protection as she is in need and he is far from immune from her charms. Fara just never bargained on the passion that she feels for Grant Hill. As events unfold, she must decide whether her desires and the dictates of her heart should trump the rules of society…

Tell me a little about yourself!

I have been writing stories since I was nine years old. I published a couple of stories in a university publication in 2005, but didn’t officially publish a book until 2010. Since then, I have published seventeen books in the various genres of literary fiction, mystery and romance. I mainly write romance novels. I have written contemporary romance, paranormal romance, romantic suspense and historical romance.

What interested you that you got into writing?

I’m not really sure what started it other than my wild imagination. I had lots of stories going through my head as a child, and eventually I decided to write them down. I always loved reading. I used to sneak and read with a small light at bedtime when I was really supposed to be asleep. So I suppose it was a combination of imagination and a great love of books that began this journey.

I see that you write different genres. What is your favorite genre to write?

Wow. Hard question there. I prefer to write romance. As for subgenres of romance, it is hard for me to decide between contemporary and historical romance, though I have always loved the times when men were still gentlemen and women were ladies. There is something very appealing about the Regency era for me. In fact, I wouldn’t mind traveling back in time to experience it.

What is your favorite to read and did that lead you into writing more of that genre?

My current obsession is paranormal romance. I have loads of vampire books stacked up on my floor. I have a few vampire stories in progress, but they are not ready yet. I also love witch stories so I have a few of those. In fact, I just got a contract for a paranormal romance recently. That should be out next year hopefully. It is titled “Magick & Moonlight”.

How many books have you written?

As of this moment, I have written 17 books.

Which one is your favorite? Why?

Oh, you had to ask me that! LOL. Right now, my favorite is Leather and Lace. It was recently released under Erica Sutherhome. It is a very hot romantic suspense about a cop who stumbles across a stripper at a crime scenes and he pursues her. He senses she is in trouble, but she won’t tell him the truth. So, what is a man to do but get involved with her to figure out what’s going on?

Do you have different pen names? Are the different cause they are different genre's? What made you choose the pen names you picked?

Yes, I have used a few pen names. My first three books were literary fiction/poetry so I used my real name. When I released my next book, a romantic mystery, I decided to use a pen name. Erica Sutherhome was born. I released several after that under the same pen name. I did a paranormal thriller at some point under Kathryn Layne in the hopes of separating my paranormal books from the rest. I went back to Erica Sutherhome for the next few books. When Upon Your Return was released, I used Marie Lavender because it was a historical romance. And, of course, I used Erica Sutherhome again recently with Leather and Lace. The truth is that I have grown tired of using so many names, however, and I have decided to stick with Marie Lavender from now on. It is also a name that means a lot to me as it is a family name. In this vein, I will re-release all of my previous books under that name. My first three books will be released soon as an anthology titled Miss Lavender’s Anthology of Ramblings.

When writing how do you come up with the plot? Do you plan the book out as far as which directions things go or is it just natural go with the flow sort of thing?

I think I use both techniques. When I am just starting an idea, it is very casual. I have a general idea of the plot, but I don’t know all of the angles yet. When I really focus on something, that’s when all of the interesting stuff happens. I get more organized and do more planning. But, the scenes also seem to flow naturally.

Is there a way you come up with the characters name?

I have always been pretty bad with coming up with new names. Sometimes I will use a name and substitute something else later. With Upon Your Return and Leather and Lace, I already knew what the names of the main characters would be ahead of time. Occasionally, I still struggle with ideas and it will be ‘he or she’ until I can come up with something better. I also try to fit the character with a name that sounds right. For minor characters, I don’t worry too much about it unless location or history depends on it.

What makes you choose the location the book takes place? Do they have significant meaning to you?

I think location is pretty important. Readers need those details to really see a place. I did a lot of research for Upon Your Return to try to tie it down to specific locations. I did the same for Leather and Lace. It was set in Boston so I had to put my thinking hat on. The crime occurred in Beacon Hill so I had to set everything close to it. I also wanted it to be realistic so I used actual places and went from there.

Is Upon Your Return your only Historical Romance? If so are you going to write more Historical Romance books?

No. It’s my only published one right now, but I have plans for many others. I have a whole list of historical romances in the works on my website. Upon Your Return is book one of the Heiresses in Love series, which is actually a trilogy. Upon Your Honor is the second book. I am polishing the manuscript right now to send to my publisher. As aforementioned, I have a lot of historical romances planned. Some are Regency, some western, and some are even paranormal in nature.

Would love to have your author links and buy links if possible if not I can look them up. Also if you have Goodreads that link as well.

Synopsis
She's mine.
That was my first thought when I held my baby in my arms at seventeen. I didn't care that I'd already promised to give her to a wealthy family.
She is mine.
I ran away from that hospital, from that family, from the very life I knew. My plan was to start my life over with what little money I (have/had?), determined to make something of myself despite the odds.
Then Logan Tate entered my life.
Gorgeous and controlling, he claimed he was trying to help me, and that he didn't care that I was another teenage pregnancy story. But I don't trust him. I don't trust anyone. And if Logan knew the real secrets and lies I was keeping inside, he wouldn't dare try to shelter me.

Excerpt
I look up at her with tears in my eyes. If not for this kind woman, I’d be handing Lily over to her adoptive parents in a matter of hours. It may seem cruel of me to have promised to give my baby away to a couple who desperately wants one and then to just pick up and run away, but none of this was my choice. Four months before my high school graduation I found out that I was pregnant, as you could probably imagine for a seventeen year old to hear that she’s going to become a mother is shocking and scary. So I did what I thought would be the right thing, I went to my parents and asked for there help. Their solution? Hide my pregnancy until after graduation and then keep me a virtual prisoner in my own home until I gave birth. When I expressed to them my desire to keep my child they gave me an ultimatum, give the baby up for adoption, or keep the baby but leave their house with absolutely no financial help from them. What else could I have done? I had no choice but to agree to their demands and I thought I could do it. I thought I could go through with it until I held her, my Lily, and I knew that giving her away would literally kill me—would make it difficult to go on with the knowledge that she was out there in the world somewhere, living a life apart from mine. Because of this, I made her a promise and I’ll die before I break that promise.

Let Love 1-3Synopsis

What comes after “they lived happily ever after?” Maddy and Reid have seen their fair share of trials and tribulations, of love and loss. Facing down the biggest challenges of their young lives, they managed to survive and endure. With the future stretching out before them, they must learn to navigate new and unfamiliar paths. Being new parents, starting new jobs, and continuing college is enough to overwhelm any couple. New challenges come up daily, as do small victories. Watch Maddy and Reid grow stronger together in this “one year later” tale of the everyday stuff that happens in real life. With a solid foundation of love under their inexperienced feet – and with the help of their family and friends – Maddy and Reid learn how to let love shine, lighting the way for a beautiful future to come. Meet the Author Melissa Collins 2 I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Excerpt Yet, here we are a year later and we couldn’t be happier to have Braden’s first birthday party tomorrow with our friends and family. Between prepping for the party, me working overtime, and Maddy finishing up her last summer course, we’ve barely been able to stay awake past eight every night. But watching them dance and laugh in front of me makes it all worth it. I pull them both into my arms and just hold them for a quick second before Braden starts shimmying out of Maddy’s arms. He’s caught sight of his Lightning McQueen racecar on the floor and is reaching for it. Handing him his car, Maddy puts him in his bouncy seat. I should be warmed by the sight of my wife taking care of our son, talking baby talk to him and kissing him sweetly. But all I can see is her ass right now. Yep, I want her. “Get over here.” I pull her back to me once Braden’s situated and brush her hair out of her eyes. “You look beautiful, you know that?” I trail sweet, soft kisses behind her ear and down her neck. “Hmmm.” She mumbles and it makes me smile against her skin. Moving from her neck across to her mouth, I feel her lean into my lips. This is something else of which I’ll never get tired. Her full, luscious lips pressed against mine; the taste of her sweet mouth still drives me crazy. “Well, hello there.” Pulling away from our kiss, Maddy arches her eyebrows as she presses her hips into my groin. The last motion surprises me more than a little. To say that our sex life has been different in the last year is, well, it’s an understatement to say the least. “What? I’m not allowed to want my wife.” I grab her ass and push her into my erection a bit more. Our hands roam as the kiss rises in intensity. I fist a handful of her hair and pull her mouth even closer to mine. It’s the hottest kiss we’ve had in a while. Just as her hips start to roll into mine, we’re distracted by a sound, and smell, to which we’ve grown all too accustomed in the last year. Before I can even move my hands from her body, Maddy’s pinching her nose closed. “Not it!” She calls out and laughs. “Damn, you’re getting quick!” It’s kind of been our thing to decide who gets to change him. I scowl playfully at her and she just laughs at me. “Dude, you’re killing my game.” Braden smiles as I hold him out in front of me. “Holy crap! What the hell did you feed this kid today?” Seriously, he’s lethal. Social Links
